Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin has been an actress in Canada as well as New Zealand for over a decade. Paquin was born in Winnipeg, raised in Wellington and made her stage debut in the role of Flora McGrath when she played her role in The Piano. In response to an audition call, she won the role as Flora McGrath, the daughter of a deaf Scottish piano player who moved to New Zealand in mid-19th-century to marry. It was her first role at the age of nine, and she had no prior experience in acting. As a teenager the family relocated from Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin had a small part as the title character when she was still a kid as part of Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and a lead part in the movie Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin was a part-time actress in the TV film of 1997 adaptation of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. The actress also played the Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She played teenage girls in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and portrayed her Polexia Aphrodisa character in Almost Famous (2000).
