Jessica Chastain

JessicaJessica Michelle Chastain (born March 24 1977) is an American producer and actress. Most famous for her roles in films that have feminist themes, she has received various accolades such as an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine named her one the 100 most influential people across the globe in 2012. Chastain was an avid actor from a young age. She made her professional performance debut on stage as Shakespeare's Juliet in 1998. After her studies in acting at Juilliard School, she was given a talent deal with John Wells. She was a frequent guest star on various television shows, and played several roles in stage productions. Chastain's first film appearance was in Jolene (2008) when she was the age of 31 years old. In 2011, Chastain achieved her breakthrough with six film releases including The Tree of Life (2011), Take Shelter (2011), and The Tree of Life (2012). She was considered for Academy Award nominations as a character in The Help (2011), where she played a aspiring socialite. She also appeared in Zero Dark Thirty (2012) as an CIA analyst. The science fiction films Interstellar (2014), The Martian (2015) and It Chapter Two (2018) had more success commercially. The strong-willed character of Chastain in dramas The Most Valuable Year (2014), Miss Sloane (2016), Molly's Game (2017) and Scenes from a Marriage (2021) were also praised.
